Bradley Geilfuss Sets PR At Wine Country Half

Bradley Geilfuss set a big PR and won his division (F45) at the Napa-to-Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon. His official result was 1:27:34. [Full Results]

Melissa Perlman was top overall female at the Fort Lauderdale A1A Half Marathon in a new personal best of 1:24:50. [Full Results]

Leah Rosenfeld was pumped about her athlete’s performance, “This is a 3-minute and 53-second personal best AND she PR’d in her 10k en route!! This is all a part of her build-up to Boston this spring and she’s exactly where she should be. Another cool part of her race today is that she was 9-seconds faster than the time we predicted :)… looks like she wanted to prove me wrong!”

Ana Aguilera set a new PR (2:15:52) at the Rock ‘n’ Roll New Orleans Half Marathon. She dropped another 2-minutes after setting a personal best this fall. [Full Results]

Lifetime Milestone Achieved

Kathleen McGeer reached her goal in her first half marathon. At the Hershey Half she finished in 2:08:29. [Full Results]

Thank you Run S.M.A.R.T for helping me achieve a milestone marker in my life.  I never thought I was a “runner” who could make it 13.1 miles, yet on Sunday I did just that.  Not only that, but i met my goal of finishing with a time better than 10 min miles.  It wasn’t the best run but it was perfect just the same.

Despite challenging conditions Jacquii Alexander improved her personal best by almost 4-minutes at the Brooklyn Half Marathon. This bumps her VDOT up 1.5 points to 39.66.

I just finished my first Run SMART Project program. I totally surprised myself in extremely wet conditions, and ran even faster than my VDOT projected in a new PR of 1:51:43. Woohoo!

Stephen Havas Wins Age Group, Sets New Half PB

Stephen Havas of Vancouver, BC set his second half marathon PR while following his customized 24-week marathon plan. On a course with lots of elevation changes he still managed to lower his personal best to 1:16:26 (61.6 VDOT) and finish first in his age group.

Two For One

Lana Goldman of Northbrook, IL set two PRs while following her 12-week half marathon plan. A week before her goal race, The March Madness Half, Lana set a “slight PR” for 8k finishing in 38:22. She then improved her half marathon best the following week finishing in 1:54:03 /38.7 VDOT [Full Results]

I loved how precise all my workouts/paces were. The plan took the guesswork out of it and gave me a specific goal to aim for. It made me believe that I could do it! – Lana

A Preview Of The New NYC Half Course

Even though I’m not running the race this weekend, I was curious about the new NYC Half course, so I ran it on my own!  Well, as best I could without official road closures.  Here is what I found:

Manage Your Effort Well Early

Miles 1-2: This is going to be a FAST start!  Running from the Grand Army Plaza to Manhattan Bridge on Flatbush Avenue is all downhill. Runners should take care to keep their pace in check as they pass by Barclays Center, home of the Brooklyn Nets.
