Ed Lowrie Gets Boston Qualifier At O2O Marathon

Jack Daniels Training Plan customer Ed Lowrie finished in 3:13:45 at the O2O Marathon. It was 6.5 minutes faster than his goal time and 12 minutes faster than the Boston qualifying standard. [Full results]

Chris Bernier Sets Three PRs While Following One Plan

Jack Daniels Training Plan customer Chris Bernier purchased a 15-week plan geared towards the Vermont City Marathon. He managed to set three new PRs for three different race distances over the course of his plan. This past weekend he followed up with his results

The race went really well.  I ran a 3:18 under tough conditions given the heat.  For me, that is a 12 minute marathon PR.  Throughout the 15 week training program, I PR’d in a 10K, half marathon and marathon.  It was an awesome experience and I look forward to working with you guys again.

I appreciate that The Run SMART Project is for runners at all levels and even we slower runners can show great improvement. I so enjoy working with Alicia and the hard work is paying off! It’s such a fun journey – I am trying to get under 30 minutes in a 5K. Before I started working with Alicia, I wasn’t sure it was possible, but I feel like it’s going to happen this summer!

Her hard work is paying off indeed. Last month she dropped over 2 minutes off her 2-mile time finishing the Bunker Hills 2 Mile Run in 19:43. [Full results] And at the Trail Mixx 50K Team competition in Bloomington, MN she ran 9 minutes faster for her 12.5K split than two years earlier, finishing in 1:41:04.

Nick Meeson Sets New PRs for 400M, 800M And The 2-Mile

After purchasing a Jack Daniels 5k Training Plan, Nick Meeson of Bowling Green, OH set PRs for 400M, 800M and 2-miles. He also reached his main goal of going sub-15 by running 14:56 at the Jesse Owens Invite at Ohio State University. Nick was kind enough to let us share his results…

My main goal with the plan was to return back to my normal running self which was sub 15 in the 5k. I did that tonight. I went 14:56. 10 minutes after the race, my words were FINALLY!

Also, I never had been able to break 2mintues in the 800 before. I went 1:58. I never broke 58 in the 400… I went 53 this season! I lowered my 2 mile time to 9:13, a 5 second PR!

I want to thank you for your plan that you sent me, it helped me get back and get better after a two years of running very poorly.

Ed Balow Drops 15 Minutes Off Half Marathon Time

Ed Balow purchased a Jack Daniels Half Marathon Training Plan last December. His goal race is in two weeks at the Run Raleigh Half. Recently, Ed checked in with us after jumping in a local half marathon simply to do his marathon pace workout.

My intention was to run it as a 2 mile easy, 8 miles at marathon pace workout, but to go hard the last 5K of the race.  Amazingly, it went according to plan.  It was fun to have those first 2 easy miles because I pretty much blew by everyone for the next 5 or 6 miles until I settled into the group of folks at my 7:30 pace. I had lots of energy left after 10 miles and was able to finish strong coming in at 1:39:30 which blows my old half PR out of the water by about 15 minutes!

Regardless of what happens in two weeks I already consider this plan a great success.  You got me into starting corral C for the Chicago Marathon and sub 1:40, and I didn’t even have to race very hard to get it!
