Congrats to Na’eem Conway for getting his first BQ with a 10-minute PR at Mt. Charleston. Na’eem trains with the NY Flyers, our local training group in NYC. He’s been steadily improving since he started with us back in 2015. Look at the progression of his PRs and VDOT score (Note: before Delaware his PR was 3:35:05):
- Delaware Marathon – 3:20:48 (47.9 VDOT) – 4/24/16
- Mohawk Hudson Marathon – 3:19:24 (48.3 VDOT) – 10/9/16
- New Jersey Marathon – 3:15:35 (49.3 VDOT) – 4/30/17
- Philadelphia Half Marathon – 1:29:02 (51.6 VDOT) – 11/18/17
- Mt. Charleston Marathon – 3:05:40 (52.3 VDOT) – 4/28/18
In Mt. Charleston Na’eem took advantage of the course finishing his second half 38-seconds faster than his first. He finished 53rd overall out of 1467 finishers and 10th in the M40 division. [Full Results]
“Na’eem is Mr. Consistency, said his coach Brian Rosetti.” “He shows up every week and completes the plan as prescribed. I know he wanted that BQ a while ago but he’s stayed healthy and become stronger in the long run for taking such a smart/measured approach to his training.” After the race Na’eem graciously returned the favor, “So much of the credit goes to coach and his plan. Still hard to believe I can finally enter my name. Thanks for making it possible.”
