Edgar Suris of Lake Mary, FL (pictured right with his running guide) has lived most of his life with Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP). RP is a degenerative eye disease and has rendered Edgar legally blind. RP hasn’t stopped Edgar from competing in races on a regular basis or slowed him down. Just in the past few years he has completed multiple training plans and keeps chipping away towards his goal of sub-4 in the marathon.
First of all I want to thank the entire Run SMART Project staff and Dr. Jack Daniels for the fantastic training plans that you guys have put together for me throughout the past few years. I cannot thank you guys enough for helping me achieve another personal record at the Chicago Marathon.
I know that my goal on Sunday was to run a sub-4-hour marathon, but I ran a time of 4:06:23, and that is a new marathon PR by roughly 9-minutes. [Full Results]
