Run SMART coach Mike Smith offered some great marathon recovery tips to NY Daily News’ Lauren Johnston. Lauren has done an amazing job documenting her first marathon training experience on her blog, Running Dialogue. It’s turned into an excellent resource for marathon beginners.
I trained to run 26.2 miles. But my regimen didn’t really cover the aftermath. Three days after the race, I’m not sure how many days I should rest, when I should start running, and when I do start running I’m not sure how far I should go.
