We got into the private coaching business with the goal of helping runners of all abilities reach their personal running goals, whether it’s running injury-free, finishing a half-marathon or qualifying for the Boston Marathon, etc. As our business grew we expanded to working with some competitive and local elite runners. But never did we expect to EVER make an announcement one day that a Run SMART client has set a world record. Today, we’re proud to announce that Terry Ballou was part of a world record setting 4×800 relay team at the U.S. Masters Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Terry was selected to run on a W40-49 4×800 meter relay team that was put together with the goal of breaking the masters world record. And they didn’t just break it, they shattered it by 30 seconds finishing in 9:25:49! Terry was the second leg and her split was 2:21. Full results.
Could it get even better? The following day Terry competed individually in the W40-44 800m and finished second overall in 2:20.97! Not only was she second overall at the U.S. Indoor Championships, she ran the fastest she’s ever run the 800M in 20 years! Full results.
Big congrats to Terry and her Run SMART coach Dan Wilson.
