Terry Ballou took home the 1500 title in the women’s 30’s Plus division at the Colgate Games, the largest indoor amateur track series in the country. To win the title, Terry competed in 4 rounds leading up to her win in the final on the 5th week of the series. Check out her progression from week to week as she sailed through the rounds, it’s remarkable:
Week 1: 1st place in 5:09.8
Week 2: 1st place in 5:06.0
Week 3: 1st place in 5:02.4
Week 4: 1st place in 4:59.0
Week 5: 1st place in 4:57.93 [Championship round]
Even more remarkable, at 42 years old, her 1500 win in 4:57.93 put Terry a half second away from her post-collegiate PR set 4 years ago. Also, at the Millrose Games last month Terry split 61.6 on her masters 4×400 relay team, which was a new post-collegiate PR. She is defying the aging process and is still getting faster at 42!
Congrats to Terry and her coach Dan Wilson. We look forward to seeing Terry reach new limits.
