Big congrats to Jen and her Run SMART coach Blake Boldon for this incredible effort.

Due to a hip/glute injury, Tom Klimek spent most of last month and the heart of his marathon build-up away from running. Today, at the Boston Marathon, Klimek managed to run his second fastest time ever. Tom’s current PR is 3:05:21, which he ran at Steamtown last year. Today, in Boston on by far a more challenging course, Klimek finished in 3:08:00 (7:11 pace).

Run SMART Client Sets Three PR’s In Three Races

Run SMART Project client John Robinson of Savannah, GA continued his impressive racing with PR’s in the 10k and 1/2 marathon over the last two weekends. This makes three PR’s out of three races for Robinson in 2010. Robinson has been working with Run SMART coach Mike Smith for 11 months.

On February 27th Robinson blasted 40:35 for first in his age group and 10th overall at the Seacrest Partners Race for Preservation 10k in Savannah, GA, beating his previous PR by 3 minutes. “I knew John was ready for 10k faster than he had ever run before, but I have to say I was surprised at how fast it was. We had taken a few weeks very easy and were just beginning a long marathon phase and had planned on using this as a good workout. The situation was a great one, he executed perfectly, and showed that he is able to race off of the year we’ve invested in proper training.” said Smith.

James Freed Sets PR At Hilton Head Half Marathon

James Freed of Emmaus, PA finished 8th overall at the Hilton Head Half Marathon this past weekend setting a new PR by 3 minutes. James’ overall time was 1:26:48. Considering he took a 1-2 minute accidental detour due to the misdirection of a few volunteers on the course, we’re confident he’s on his way to reaching his goal of sub-3 hours at the Boston Marathon in late April. Keep training hard James!

James works with Run SMART coach Dr. Jack Daniels.
