The 2010 Run S.M.A.R.T. Project Running Retreats will take place over two separate weeks in Flagstaff, AZ on July 18th – July 24th and July 25th – July 31st. This will be a great opportunity to get away and train in the beautiful mountains of Flagstaff, heralded as one of the best places to run in the country.

Ultramarathoner Tom Podell, a client of Jack Daniels finished 10th overall and 2nd in his age group at the Bulldog 50K this past weekend. The BullDog 50K takes place in Malibu Creek State Park, Malibu California and is a Trail Runner Magazine Trophy Series Race. With a total elevation gain of 6,800ft, Podell managed to finish the grueling race in 4:50:11. You can see the full results here.

The TransRockies Run is a grueling ultramarathon broken down into 150 teams of two covering 118 miles over 6 days in the Rocky Mountains. The course includes a mix of singletrack and forest road with nearly 25,000 feet of elevation gain, reaching altitudes of over 12,500 ft.
Run SMART coach Mike Smith and teammate Robert Krar of Team RunFlagstaff stormed to another stage win, finishing the epic 23.4mile/4407′ climbing stage from Red Cliff to Vail in 3:07:22 to stretch their overall lead to over 22 minutes ahead of Team Nike/Rogue Valley Runners.

Peter Polidori, a client of Dr. Jack Daniels, finished first in the 70-74 age group at the Crim 10-Miler besting 2nd place by over 11 minutes. The 71 year old masters runner finished in 1:14:25 averaging an impressive 7:26 per mile! Polidori was 844th overall out of 8,000 plus runners. You can see the full results here on Active.com.
Congratulations to Melisa Christian on her 18th place finish at the USA Women’s 10 Mile Championships in Flint, MI! Melisa averaged 5:52 a mile finishing in 58:37:00. You can see the full results here on the UASTF website.
